As breeders of AKC Gordon Setters since 1970, we are committed to producing puppies that are healthy family pets, hunting companions and of course the next generation of top show dogs for our program. We strive to improve the Gordon Setter breed with each litter based on health, temperament, and the AKC standard.
Our Gordon Setter puppies are raised in the country (see "Our Homes" page) on a combined 125 acres with a lot of exposure to the woods, ponds, nature and most importantly my kids!
We have bred and shown around 70 champions, multiple Best In Show dogs, National Specialty winners, and you may have even seen our dogs on TV at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club, AKC Eukanuba Invitational, and Purina Invitational shows. My Mom was an AKC licensed All-Breed Handler and I started showing when I was just 4 years old.
Our start in Gordon Setters was in the late 1960's. A registered Gordon Setter named Count of Blackmore was surrendered and my Mother took him home. She was immediately taken with these regal dogs and was committed to getting Count's AKC Championship and Companion Dog certificate . Four years later she bought a female locally named Jennifer Gay Lady, who was out of the famous hunting dog, Tanny Bay. Eventually she found a suitable stud dog to breed her to which produced, Am/Can Ch O'Hillock's Divine Sarah. Sarah was the dam of Multi BISS / BIS Ch Heatherhill's Battlestar, our foundation dog. Stephanie Walter was the owner of Sarah and the co-owner and breeder of Battle and to this day we still work closely with Stephanie of Heatherhill Kennel to produce these wonderful dogs.
